The Soul of Leading Institute

The Soul of Leading Institute (SOLI) is an organization dedicated to developing people, organizations, and communities in their efforts to connect with and lead from a soul level through customized learning and development experiences.


OUR WHY: We, Jennifer Connelly and Walter Crawford, founded SOLI  to provide a path for leaders, individuals and teams to explore their why through a unique model of coaching and leadership development. As consultants and executive coaches with backgrounds as leaders in government, marketing, and nonprofit management, we believe that leadership in its best form is authentic, supportive and transformational.

WHY LEADERSHIP AT THE SOUL LEVEL IS IMPORTANT: We are at unprecedented times and many leaders are asking themselves the tough question regarding their why and what deeply motivates them with regard to their purpose. No matter your title, you are a leader in your life and when you step forward confidently connected to purpose, the results you seek will happen with greater ease.

We believe the soul’s journey is not linear but more like a labyrinth that can be supported by these 10 Guideposts: Exploration, Awareness, Honesty, Acceptance, Connection, Collaboration, Appreciation, Compassion, Care, and Wholeness. Our programming and coaching guides people through a unique process, inspiring a commitment to live and lead with purpose.

The Soul of Leading Institute’s Leadership Development Program has been a breath of fresh air. The program has served as a reminder for me to lead with authenticity and maintain alignment to my personal core values.

SOLI Leadership & Team Development Programs

The Soul of Leading Institute (SOLI)’s Leadership & Team Development Programs are unique group learning experiences to foster growth and continuous learning to help the organization thrive. These programs include a blend of 1:1 and/or Small Group Coaching.

Leadership Development Training - guide leaders through a structured group development experience to support deep learning, navigate challenges, and cultivate purpose-driven leadership. In this Leadership Program, leaders experience the opportunity to grow and evolve their leadership style in support of their values, peers, and organizational goals. 

Team Effectiveness Training - support leaders through the diverse styles and dynamics of individuals and teams through working with any of the SOLI Individual and Team Assessments (see section below) and other proven methodology. In this Team Effectiveness Training, leaders will grow in their awareness of self and others and how to enhance communication, team dynamics, productivity, and overall success. 

Areas for SOLI support include:

  • encouraging authentic leadership and self-other awareness

  • integrating leadership learning to support the organization’s mission, vision, strategic plan, values

  • fostering diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging and cultural perspective

SOLI Coaching

SOLI Coaching provides support for individuals and teams to explore and develop their purpose-driven leadership while navigating goals and desired outcomes. Coaching can be offered in 6-12 month engagements or as part of one of our Leadership Development Programs.

Leadership Coaching - engage in a 1:1 format of confidential coaching to support the learning and application from the leadership development programming and/or your individual coaching program.

Peer/Small Group Coaching - provide peer-to-peer or group coaching opportunities for leaders to develop and practice new approaches for listening and responding to everyday challenges or questions.

We are excited to work with you to develop a program that supports the needs of your individual growth.

 

SOLI Individual & Team Assessments

A core element of SOLI’s offering is the weaving in of insights on self-other awareness and human behavior through the utilization of assessments. We will work with you to explore which assessment(s) would best align with your needs.

The Birkman Method - identifies strengths, behaviors, motivations, and interests along with ways to enhance resilience to stress.  There are individual as well as team applications when using the Birkman.

The Leadership Circle Profile (LCP) - provides a 360 view of the leader as well as recommendations for key areas of growth and development. There are individual as well as team applications for the LCP.

DiSC and The Five Behaviors of Cohesive Teams - provides either a personal development assessment to grow in the Five Behaviors: Trust, Conflict, Commitment, Accountability and Results within an organization and/or a team assessment to build greater cohesiveness for an intact team. The Five Behaviors incorporates style insights from the DiSC model: Dominance, Influence, Steadiness and Conscientiousness.

The Enneagram - identifies areas for growth and exploration across 9 types of personality with recommendations for how to increase your health and well-being, expand your capacity to be present, and improve relationship effectiveness with self and others.
